    I believe they should be publically visible if it is a serious offense, or if the user is still new. Strong incentive to follow rules is good, in my opinion. However, it is problematic that people post and have warnings from several years ago. Expiration assuming the user is an active member seems good. Like getting out of jail early for good behavior. If you keep posting and don't break any rules, your posts will eventually reach some threshold and remove your oldest standing offense until you have none remaining.
